Christmas cards!
Nov. 10th, 2016 01:14 pmIt's that time of year again! I have been doing this about every year since, oww, 2007 or so. Leave your name and address in a comment and I will send you a holiday card! Advance apologies for my handwriting.
The usual offer to send IC holiday cards as well/in addition is also available, haha, but let me know if actually addressing your envelope to, say, Goku would not be looked upon kindly by your mail carrier/family members/roommates/pet parakeet, etc. Otherwise I'll totally do that.
Please note that if I've sent you a card in the past, I don't have your addy now, as I delete addy-containing comments as soon as I've sent the cards off. Everything is screened!

There’s a party—there’s always a party at home, the same empty ritual to smile through. Nanami haranguing the cooks and complaining about the champagne flutes; their parents, seen but not heard in some painfully stiff exercise in formality. It’s easy enough to sneak away now, find a girl and an alcove and kill a little time making each other ordinary again. Strip the designer dresses and spoil the fantasy. It’s a waste, but it will do until summer vacation ends. It always has before.
The Chairman’s called a week before, reassuring. This is the year. This is the year he’ll be president of the student council. Touga savors the thought in little, pleased moments, until he remembers Ruka, there in the hospital bed. Ruka with the Bride in the arena, collapsing in her arms, as if anything had ever held him up but dreams.
But Ruka never recognized the real game. His mistake, his folly, but still something coils itself inside Touga’s throat, no matter how casually he tries to dismiss it, something as cold and hard as the signet ring around his finger.
He’s heard of her, but what he’s heard can’t be right. The heir to the Hanabusa Financial Clique is a quadriplegic—but Sumireko’s dancing.
Sumireko’s dancing.
--
He takes her to bed.
"Those in power stay there forever, if they only have the will to. The phoenix never burns up at all. Old money..." she says, trailing a finger down his chest, "that's the only thing they can't touch."
"You think that's it?"
"What else is there?”
“Upside-down castles in the sky, maybe.”
Sumireko laughs quietly. Her hand slips down to trace the jut of his hip—they’re not cold, her hands, but they’re hard and heavy. The prosthetics offer her plenty of dexterity where it counts, but her hands can’t pull a bow along a violin’s strings, can’t press the keys of a piano. Sometimes even now she can’t tell exactly when she’s placed too much pressure on an object, not until it’s crushed between her fingers. He’s seen the look flash briefly across her face before.
She never tells him that, but he’s deciphered it from all that she doesn’t do. Sumireko attends events; Sumireko dances, swims, bakes. But Sumireko avoids anything that requires an absolutely delicate touch.
--
"I thought you might like to transfer here."
"Ohtori's no place for me, Touga."
"But--"
"The only destinies are the ones we create for ourselves."

Fandom: Angel Sanctuary
Pairing: Raphael/Sara
Rating: PG-13
Warnings/Etc.: Implied, but not overly explicit sex. The dreaded normal!AU. Or maybe it's closer to a deluded!AU. Also known as the only time I have ever given Raphael and Sara a happy ending.

Fandom: Angel Sanctuary
Pairing: Raphael/various (some Raphael/Jibril, Raphael/Barbiel)
Rating: R
Warnings/Etc.: Implied, but not overly explicit sex. Some slash, mentions of suicide, mentions of abortion. Years ago, prompt challenge lists were king, and one that cropped up fairly frequently was the "five things (or seven, or ten) that didn't happen to X/five people X didn't love/etc." So, five people Raphael didn't love, and one he might have.
( this might be the time for a bad james bond joke )

Pairing: Raphael/Sara
Rating: PG-13
Warnings/Etc.: Unfinished, with major gaps (in storyline as well as general tone-- this one comes dangerously close to being cute on occasion, and I feel like I've been quite a bit gentler on a few characters than they might deserve). Not canon-compliant, but a few actual attempts were made to address this. Most of these attempts, however, are paper-thin, but considering you can already blow holes through regular Angel Sanctuary canon, I'm really not as fussed as I should be over it. Someday I'm going to write the terrible normal!AU where Raphael is a brilliant but drug-addicted doctor and Sara is a bored housewife. This story, thankfully, isn't it.
( Like a racehorse trading masters, trading bits. )

Pairing: n/a
Rating: PG-13
Warnings/Etc.: Obviously not canon compliant (mostly in that chapter 82 never happened, which, of course, alters just about everything), with almost no explanation behind the change. Spoilers up to about volume 17. Ridiculously full of gaps and inaccuracies.
( it's not such a bad thing, to want to live )

Fandom: Angel Sanctuary
Pairing: Raphael/Jibril
Rating: PG-13 (may eventually traipse into R-territory thanks to violence, if so I'll amend this and add an age restriction)
Warnings, Etc.: Preseries with liberties (this is my cover-up statement for any and all inconsistencies with canon, particularly the end), though the spoilers only go up until volume fifteen or so, really. Extreme cruelty, verbal, physical, and otherwise, ostracism, and admittance of rape. Implied sex. General pretentiousness that needs to be squashed. This is a really weird fic even by my standards and the whole thing seems very disconnected.
( 'For God's sake don't you dare say any of those things to anyone else.' )

Fic Masterlist (2003-2012)
Jun. 20th, 2010 01:43 amAcey Dearest at fanfiction.net-- almost nine years of fanfiction. Yes, I'm horrified too. Fandoms run the gamut from Dragon Ball Z to Death Note to Angel Sanctuary to Yu Yu Hakusho to Diabolo, with a couple of stuff from other fandoms thrown in the mix occasionally. Almost all of this is one-shots. Fanfiction.net as usual is being a pain and deleting my pagebreaks, so if a fic looks more weird than ever... that's probably why.
If you're not a fan of reading stories on ff.n, my very latest fics over the past year are here.
Stuff that both didn't make it onto ff.n and actually got completed is few and far between, but includes:
Mainsprings (Angel Sanctuary, Katou/Kira) --People whose mainsprings are broken are better off dead. The more explicit version of the same fic on Fanfiction.net, though it's still R. From 2009.
Answer (Death Note, Mello/Matt) --Matt asks about the plan. The answer isn't what he wants. PG. From 2006.
Collapse (Death Note, entirely too many pairings, slash, het, and femmeslash) --for a 1fandom claim on livejournal, fifty themed sentences, spoilers for the entire series. PG-13. From 2006.
There may be a few drabbles-on-demand I've missed, but other than that, this list is as complete as it gets.

Fandom: Angel Sanctuary
Pairing: Raphael/Sara
Rating: PG-13
Warnings, Etc.: Postseries with liberties (depending on how you look at it), inevitable mentions of Setsuna/Sara incest, very lightly implied sex, and brief mentions of (canon) rapes. Weirdness, ambiguities, no one saying what they really mean, what might be amnesia, what definitely is prescription drug abuse, and health problems that may not be real. Complete as of October 5th, 2010.
( A week into his coursework and he finds Sara again, in that not-quite-by-accident fashion he has, carefully tracking down her aura through the miles of subways and buses, bicyclists and pedestrians, searching for the faintest scent of rain. )

Fandom: Angel Sanctuary
Pairing: Kira/Alexiel, Kira/Katou
Rating: PG-13
Warnings, Etc.: Midseries, cursing, general oddness. Started out as a character study, and while it's unfinished it probably wouldn't take much revamping to complete. Kira/Alexiel dominates this piece and Katou doesn't really get anywhere.
( But princess tales are a poor substitue for reality, and on a clear day you can wait forever. )
